Epilogue to an Episode

I realised that it’s a common feature of sitcoms to have that random, minute and a half of footage at the end of an episode that usually have no relevance at all to the show that has just run it’s course.

Here’s mine.

Last week I was driving crawling home along a very busy motorway. My standard trip home, really. Given I get bored quite easy, I usually turn up the music and sing and dance in my car, because, let’s face it, it’s dark, I’m in my car, everyone is concentrating on what’s happening in front of them, and therefore, no one can see me. Aside from my loud music possibly constituting a public nuisance, I really don’t see the harm in participating in this guilty pleasure of mine.

However, on this certain occasion, there was harm involved. Harm… to my reputation/pride/self perception of my generally awesome self.

Here I am singing and dancing, and at the same time inching forward in the traffic. There’s an on-ramp to the left of me. Being the good car-ma person I am, I decide to let the car to my left in front of me. I look over and go to motion them in front of me. It is then that I realise…

… It’s the Police Riot Squad. Three of them. All watching me sing and dance, whilst pissing themselves laughing at my antics.

I guess it’s not that dark out there on the motorway after all.
